The Red Cross talks were held seven times in Seoul and Pyeongyang on an alternating basis from August 1972 to May 1973. Although the talks were meaningful in that people traveled between Seoul and Pyeongyang for the first time after national division, the reunions of separated families were never held due to unbridgeable differences in positions between the two sides.
