The formal garden At Sissinghurst Castle was created on a medieval moated site by the writer and gardener Vita Sackville-West and her husband Sir Harold Nicolson. This elevated view by photographer John Gay shows the Rondel, a circular yew hedge enclosure that forms the centre piece of the Rose Garden.
