Children are not only the future managers and users of the City, but they are also the real color, the real soul and the real hope: this is why we have entrusted them with the task of illustrating the places that represent the history of our Community. Their imagination, their liveliness, their naturalness, their extraordinary freedom and their communication skills, though the study of the "Ponte San Vito" they realized an authentic exploration of the past. The school together with the student’s families is one of the pillars on which civil society is based. This is why we believe that when parents, teachers and institutions share the commitment in the adoption project, it will guarantee the recovery of the historical identity that is fundamental to plan and build our future. The choice of the adoption of our Comprehensive Institute fell on the "Ponte San Vito" because geographically it connects the two plexuses of the Institute, located in two distant districts of the City and joined together by the bridge that already in its original construction connected distant zones of the territory. The two districts are Rione Lucania and Bucaletto.
The construction date is to be placed between under Emperor Diocleziano between 248 and 305. Formerly called San Aronzio, in memory of the first Patron of Potenza, the Ponte San Vito was probably an integral part of the ancient route of the via Erculea that in the Lucan track, also touched the City of Potenza and connected the Sannio to Lucania.
History, charm and popular tradition come together in the explanations that the boys have prepared on the San Vito Bridge that they decided to adopt to deepen the knowledge of origins of their city
