[The seal girl, or The seal lady]

Scene on the beach. In the central area, a woman sitting on the purple sand, with short blonde hair. She wears a light dress with the skirt area in lilac. Looking down at a framed mesh she is holding in her left hand. Behind the mesh is a seal standing on its tail, with a silver body and a greenish tail. The seal is raising its head, looking up, making a sound. The sea is seen in the background. In the upper zone, pale sky. On the back of the watercolor and written in pen: "'The seal girl', one of the 7 watercolors by Eguren that reproduces 'Amauta' No. 21 (Feb. Mar. 1929) page 17, homage to the poet". Below is written in pen: "The lady with the seal / original watercolor by José María Eguren". In the center, blue round stamp of the DIGIBIFE and in pencil: "XJME / A 27".
