The silence of the stone sets the point of departure for the evolution of my sculpture ‘Shadow’. In the process, shadow becomes the presence of inner light; Buddha, in movement and in stillness - all at once.
The face of Buddha is convex/concave in a highly polished reflecting granite surface. Light runs around the dark full empty form - negotiating the shadow, enveloping the vision of light of this sculpture.
