Ramses II, an Egyptian cargo steamer, ran aground when it parted tow in the Severn Estuary in March 1951. It was carrying a cargo of maize from Odessa to Sharpness. The ship was built in 1924 by Ropner Shipbuilding & Repairing Co of Stockton-On-Tees.
