Círculo del deporte (Circle of sport) consists of five modular pieces, each of which is built with an internal frame 5 mm thick with a weight of 1,250 kg. Each unit is 650 cm high and 812 cm in diameter. The sculpture was made by the author at the request of the Rector at the time. It has no signature, marks or transcription, since the author indicates that he does not usually sign his works. The pieces are placed in a circle and painted with the colours of the Olympic rings. They symbolise union, equality and perfection for sport, and their location is in the space that the UPNA has dedicated to sport. We are faced with a series of figurative sculptures, which have been shedding all referential connotations, the human figure only remaining in the perception of the viewer, moving the perceptual ambiguity of reality between what the eye sees and what the mind interprets. These characters are only identified by their colour, equipped with communicative attributes, continents, races, flags, etc. and they keep including sociological behaviour similar to that produced by groups of human beings, establishing relationships with their peers, repeating attitudes and situations to deliver a message that we decode, and we know when we are able to put ourselves in a circle. The ensemble was shown in a solo exhibition at the García Castañón Culture Hall. In 2002, the Public University of Navarre became interested in his work and that same year he developed the model for Círculo del deporte. In the 2004, the sculpture joined the art collection of the Public University of Navarre.
