This low-level aerial photograph shows the seafront at Hastings Old Town. On the beach are fishing boats, the capstans for retrieving them from the water and tall timber lofts for drying and storing nets. Hastings has no natural harbour and so the town's fishing fleet has to be launched from the beach.
