The Taksim Gardens continues down from İnönü Gezisi (Gezi Parkı), and the monumental entryway of the Artillery Corps Barracks, waiting to be torn down for quite some time, are seen in this image, 1941. Opening onto Taksim Square and raised with steps, the wide terrace of İnönü Gezisi was designed to facilitate the viewing of ceremonies held in the square as well as providing a monumental entry into the park.
