The Umayyad Mosque, also known as the Ancient Mosque or Al-Masfi Mosque, is an ancient archaeological historical mosque, located in the heart of Mosul. It is the first mosque in this city, the second in Iraq, and the fifth in the whole Islamic world. The mosque was completely neglected after ISIS had occupied the city of Mosul. its minaret was destroyed, and many of its walls collapsed
