Regarded as one of the most successful Test teams of all time, Warwick Armstrong’s 1920-21 Australian team made history by being the first team to claim a 5-0 Ashes series win.
In the first Test at the SCG Armstrong made 158. In the fifth Test (also Sydney), Charlie McCartney made a magnificent 170 while wrist spinner Arthur Mailey took seven wickets in Australia’s nine wicket win to give him an unprecedented 36 wickets in the series.
In 1921 Armstrong’s Australians swept through England with a 3-0 Ashes series victory.
