Thirty episodes from the Bible

Veronese paintersecond quarter of the 14th century

Museo di Castelvecchio

Museo di Castelvecchio
Verona, Italy

The scenes are a compendium of biblical history: the first three are taken from the Genesis (Creation of the World, Creation of Adam and Eve, Original Sin), while the others come from the New Testament, with subjects of Mary and, mainly, of Christ. Despite their being almost miniature in scale, the images betray the synthetic manner of a fresco painter immersed in the local style before Turone.
