Thomas Proctor was only 17 when President Lincoln died. He is most remembered for being a part of a debate in 1921 over who rented the room in which Lincoln died. At 73 and suffering from dementia, Proctor did not engage in this controversy himself, but rather others took up the fight for and against him. Ultimately, it was proven that the death room was that of William Clark, not Proctor.
