Who is the insect with the largest wingspan on this planet? Scientists have been at odds over this issue for years. This insect has been hiding in the depths of jungle in South America and few people know its huge size. It is the Thysania agrippina, whose wingspan can reach 32cm. In South America, Thysania agrippina has many other names, such as ghost moth, great grey witch and great owlet moth. The white wing with complex serrated pattern on the front is its excellent camouflage on the gray-white trunk. Because of its good protective color, Thysania agrippina is difficult to be found in the jungle, and therefore becomes one of the most mysterious moths in the world. There are many stories about it. Some local villagers believe that it is the incarnation of the jungle witch.
