Title card from the 1943 USPHS cut of Warner Brothers’ "Dr. Ehrlich’s Magic Bullet" (1940). The United States Public Health Service (USPHS) version, called “Magic Bullets,” ran thirty minutes and was intended to educate servicemen on syphilis. The USPHS believed that showing a film with recognizable Hollywood actors would have a greater impact than a standard government informative video.
