Charitable activities were also performed by Jewish women, such as Miriam Sinzheim, a granddaughter of Samuel Oppenheim. She supported the building of a Jewish house of learning in Worms and donated the Torah scroll and ritual objects for it. The magnificent baroque Torah curtain shown here was embroidered by her.
