In the years 1975-1977, scientists at Stanford University developed answers to the question of what mankind's first human settlements in space could look like. The illustrator Rick Guidice was then able to translate these visions into images that not only show the technical side, but above all give an idea of everyday life beyond the blue planet. They show the very optimistic perspective of the time and at the same time transferred life on earth into the conditions of space - they are more reminiscent of earthly cities than of a space station. Thus, the artificial gravity generating stations were provided with continuous lanes and had various functional rooms.
