In the 1940s, Maria Keil produced a number of artworks on the theme of the carriage of mail to decorate the public area of the Funchal Central Post Office. This artwork is part of this group and, in 1960, was removed during the refurbishment of the building and incorporated into the art collection of the CTT Museum.
