“Etz ha-Chayim (Tree of Life) of Besht”. Besht - rabbi Israel ben Eliezer (1700-1760) also known by his secular name Baal Shem Tov (from Hebrew “master of the good name”). Baal Shem Tov is considered to be the founder of Hasidic Judaism. A mystic, healer, Torah sage and a cult figure for members of all Hasidic denominations.
