Loose print made by Juan Francisco Rosa, master engraver. His intaglio production was mainly religious prints.
Image based on the altar of Cristo del Auxilio by the sculptor Juan Martínez Montañés (1568-1649). In the central part there is the dead Christ with his head fallen on the sternum and his feet are crossed, each nailed with a nail. At the bottom, a bust of the Virgin Mary and on one side the half-length portrait of the donor Fray Sebastián de la Cruz, a Mercedarian brother. The frame is composed of a pair of Solomonic columns on two atlantes, decorated with foliage, ascending. At the top, we find an arch with the heads of cherubs.
