This is a site-specific work created for the Pingshan Art Museum. It is composed of wooden tunnels and blue balloons,as well as a “Forever” brand bicycle from Shanghai. The artist charges into the balloon space riding his bicycle, and the rice paper and balloon at both ends of the space will be broken through.Once again, the artist changes the physical state of vision and sensation through movement. As a result, the balloons are fallen and scattered on the second floor and in response of Qiu Zhijie’s new work Map.The spce that Roman cut into is directly connected to the main wooden stairway in the building, which leads people upward. While overlooking the space, the scattered blue balloons will change over time, which endows the works of another kind temporality.
This work continues the physical intervention aspect of Roman Signer’s work. The blue balloons and the falling blue ball in another work have both the original characteristics of the form; the final changed posture and position and the moment desired by the artist is achieved by the bicycle parked in the wooden tunnel.
An instant is for eternity.
