When the Lees left Arlington in 1861, this soup tureen was given to Richard Lloyd, an overseer for R.E. Lee. Mrs. Lee gave many things away before leaving Arlington House. Several items have been returned to the house including objects given by Mrs. Lee to some of her slaves.
