Image of the Chapel of the Relics where the tombs traditionally attributed to the kings Fernando II of Galicia and León and Alfonso IX can be seen.

The representation of both monarchs is notable for the presence of curly hair, a profiled beard and clothing consisting of a tunic and mantle. They seem to have abandoned themselves to sleep, a resource which, according to researchers such as Núñez Rodríguez, could be related to an aspect of medieval thought, which is related to the idea that the king does not die, his death being associated with rest and sleep, rather than with the cessation of life.
