MILELE CONTEMPORARY LAB

Ingabire Gretta is a multidisciplinary artist who draws inspiration from lifestyles and human
emotion. She studied Graphic Art at Ecole d’Art de Nyundo in 2015-2017. Gretta has
participated in different art projects and exhibitions.
Showcased one of her works Entitled “The Rose” in Harare, Zimbabwe along with other female
painters across the continent of Africa in the Women,wine and words festival.
In 2019, Gretta held her solo exhibition “Spoken Art” at the Innovation village Gallery; Kigali,
Rwanda.
She is also a theater practitioner, and creative writer who published a book titled ‘The sun, the
moon, and the truth’. Through a residency project by Afriart gallery connecting visual artists,
writers and curators in Kampala, Uganda. This painting describes every age is a journey of who we are. Through the eyes of a youth growing woman;
there is another urge of dependency and strong desire to explore your wholesomeness. The
brown color in the background symbolizes the desire of dependency and what it means for that
particular human soul to understand her femininity and delicate growth on the journey without
someone else deciding for them.
