The final edition print of Un Poco Más is shown here with several print studies: five working proofs and a subsequent color trial proof. Like many of Frankenthaler's proofs, these examples are in collage format. In her pencil-drawn editing marks in Working Proof I, the deletion of the tangerine patch in Working Proof II, and taped color samples in Working Proof V, we see Frankenthaler's careful consideration of line, color, and form. These annotations serve as reminders for herself or possibly notes and instructions for her collaborators during her ten days at Ediciones Polígrafa in Barcelona, Spain.
Printmaking may have offered Frankenthaler a new source of
inspiration and a respite from the solitude of painting.
