Female costume from Sinj

Young girl dressed up to watch the Alka tournament. She is wearing traditional, folk costume from Sinj. Intricate lace and a lot of layers of material are characteristic of traditional costumes from the region. You can also see colourful tassels attached to the costume. On top of that, the whole costume is showing traditional colours. The women of Sinj also participate in the Alka procession, wearing these traditional folk costumes of the 19th century. These one features white ruffled shirts, long, sleeveless black coats, long red skirts and white floral garlands.
