The University Olympic Stadium, an iconic landmark in Mexico City, holds a rich history and cultural significance, it was the first building constructed in the University City of UNAM. Renowned muralist Diego Rivera proudly declared it his most important work, leaving behind a stunning mural within its walls. As the first main venue for the Olympic Games in Latin America, the stadium witnessed history when Enriqueta Basilio became the first woman to light the Olympic cauldron. It also played a pivotal role in the 1986 World Cup in Mexico and was later recognized by UNESCO as a World Cultural Heritage Site in 2007. Moreover, the stadium has been the stage for four of the seven championship titles won by the Pumas soccer team UNAM soccer team, leaving an indelible mark on Mexican soccer.
