  • Details: After the success of the Portuguese group presented at the project TOUR PARIS 13, the mentor Mehdi Ben Cheikh, invited again the WOOL (Lara Seixo Rodrigues) to select a small group of urban artists to integrate the new and ambitious project of Galerie Itinerrance on the island of Djerba, Tunisia. During the months of July and August, a selection of more than 150 artists from the 4 corners of the world (30 nationalities), took turns at every 7 days to leave their mark in the traditional village of Erriadh, who became a space of multicultural expression, a new movement for a country in (trans)formation ', explained the project mentor Mehdi Ben Cheikh. To the artists from countries such as Brazil, Japan, China, Morocco, Saudi Arabia, Australia, UK or Spain, among many others, was only requested the execution of one (or more) original artwork, taking into account the authenticity and specificity of the local environment, always looking for an aesthetic appreciation of it. The presence of the Portuguese group in this unique art project, formed by ADD FUEL, MÁRIO BELÉM and Arraiano, between the 7th and 15th July 2014, allowed once again to express the quality and national hallmark, but most of all, to enjoy an equally unique and memorable experience, both the interaction between artists, as the experience of a culture and daily sharing with local and traditional community in such a unique moment in its history '.
  • Biography: Diogo Machado excels in creating imaginary worlds, where he combines fictional characters, decorative elements, a distinctive trait, an omnipresent humor and a remarkable sense of symmetry. In the series of tiles that he stencils and/or lays on the walls, he creates the idea of a trompe l'oeil, leading us to believe that these are scenes inspired in a medieval universe; such is the rigor with which he draws. However, when we're closer and see the tiles carefully, we discover a completely contemporary composition of figures and creatures. It's a pop world, strange, were irony is always present.
