Akbar Padamsee worked with various mediums, from oil on canvas to computer graphics and films. He explored the idea of 'Self' by experimenting with form and colour. He spent an extended period exploring specific styles and themes – for example, he devoted a year in the 1950s to painting only in grey.
This particular artwork was commissioned for the Kerala Museum, Madhavan Nayar Foundation Collection.
