Chicago, United States

Black and white print depicting two scenes with nude African American figures. The scene in the top half of the print depicts an androgynous young woman or man from the waist up, standing. The figure is shirtless and wearing a cap or headwrap; the arms are positioned behind the back. The stripes of the Confederate flag are superimposed over the figure’s body. Text beneath the figure reads “ARTICLE IV SECTION II.” The bottom half of the print shows an emaciated young African American boy (or, possibly, girl) sitting huddled with his legs pulled close to his chest. The text of several partial quotes appears over and around his body. Larger text beneath the child reads “VALUABLE.”
