Rural character. A man standing in silhouette against a bright background with a stagnant lake or large pond and a mountain range on the horizon. He wears the clothes of a cattle farmer, with chaps and espadrilles. Juan Cabré painted this piece when he was a student at the San Fernando Royal Academy of Fine Arts (Real Academia de Bellas Artes de San Fernando) in Madrid between 1900 and 1908, with a grant from the provincial government in Teruel.
