work on paper from the series La Mystérique (the path of Grace) by Hristina Ivanoska features works inspired by the written work of Simone Weil, a Jewish-born French philosopher, Christian mystic and political activist, and Luce Irigaray, the Belgian-born Frenchfeminist, philosopher, and cultural theorist.

The works reflect on the idea of doubt and purpose when faced with one’s political, social and spiritual self. Weil, a devoted Christian, questions her faith in God as she no longer believes that baptizing will confirm her sanity. The work in the exhibition is a continuation of Ivanoska’s research into individual actions against the established social and political roles and norms, as defined by the conventional social and political systems.
