The collection of images explores the devotees of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church on January 7th for Genna (Christmas) in Lalibela and on January 20th Timket “Epiphany” in Gondor. Both major holidays in the country are celebrated across Ethiopia but these two cities hold special ceremonies in which attracts the local followers as well as the international community. Held in national heritage sites, the experience showcases the long-standing relationship of Christianity in Ethiopia in which the ancient practices makes it a unique celebration in the global religious calendar.
