The meta-painting investigations of Tomasz Ciecierski are so characteristic that, upon seeing a composition of a number of small overlapping oil pictures, with an abstractly framed landscape, there is no doubt that one is encountering his work. Thus, it has to be but another page for the “book of painting”, on which the artist has been ceaselessly working for over four decades now. Included in it, until now, are chapters on the painter's technique (palette, tools, draftbook-sketchbook), topics (still life, landscape), and problems (colour, presentation). [A. Dzierżyc-Horniak]
