Wang Shenglie (1923-2003) was born in Shenyang, Liaoning Province and is good at Chinese painting. He studied in Tokyo Branch, New Beijing Academy of Fine Arts, Japan from 1941 to 1944. He was appointed as acting director of Art Department of Shenyang Teachers College in 1947. In 1948, he was appointed as Director of the Art Group of the Normal Department of Northeast Administrative College. Since 1949, he has successively been a professor, Dean and Vice-Dean of Northeast Lu Art Department, Northeast Art College, Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts, and director of Wang Shengli Art Center at Lu Xun Academy of Fine Arts. In 1998, he became Honorary Professor of life in Luxun Academy of Fine Arts. His representative works include oil painting Reading, Chinese paintings Eight Girls Dropping into the River, Tiller, Long Tianchi Water, End of the Earth, etc. He published Wang Shenglie's Painting Collection.
