Portrait of a middle-aged man, short bust, seen from its profile, with dark hair and trimmed beard, slightly graying hair, thick and softly angular eyebrows, half-closed eyes with dark pupils and a slightly curved nose. His skin is white-pink in his forehead, cheeks, nose and neck and redder in his ear lobes. The head of the sitter ends in the neck of the white shirt and some traces that sketch the blazer lapels and the tie knot, in grey and black tones respectively. The head projects a red shadow over the background of the canvas. Very dark in the forehead and chin and lighter in the neck which helps to outline the motif on the background and gives a bigger volume sensation. The lower part of the canvas is covered only by a light preparatory white prime, covered in the rest of the canvas by a red and greyish tone, this last one applied with a thick brush. Label on the back : "William Turner Dannat. Portrait of Mr. Benigno de la Vega-Inclán."
