Upholstered Hall Chair

This upholstered chair was situated in the front hall of the Lincoln Home for many years next to a matching hat rack. In 1861, Abraham Lincoln gave or sold this chair to the Superintendent of Schools who had an office down the hall from his law office. Later on, the Superintendent's descendants gave the chair back to the Lincoln Home. The chair is made up of 31 different velvets in a tumbling block pattern.
