The environment is called the Upper Vestibule, as it serves as an entrance to the upper level of the catacomb. It not only preserves the first Christian paintings of southern Italy, but on one side of the vault has a large skylight built between the 8th and 9th centuries. decorated with fresco with the image of a Christ Pantocrator between angels and San Gennaro (second half IX century).
