Cover of Variedades magazine in its first edition. Variedades was an illustrated weekly publication from Lima, which circulated between 1908 and 1932, recognized for developing graphic journalism at the beginning of the Peruvian 20th century, as well as for providing testimony of the political, social and cultural activity of the Peruvian capital. It was the successor to the Lima magazine Prisma (1905 - 1907). Its editor until 1930 was the writer and literary critic Clemente Palma (Lima, 1872 - 1946).
In particular, the image on this cover shows five disguised politicians in a meeting, a caricature made by Julio Málaga Grenet (Arequipa, 1886 - Lima, 1963).
