Also known as Mallow Bindweed and Riviera Bindweed. Caroline Maria Applebee (c. 1787-1854) was one of many talented, dedicated amateur flower painters who flourished in the first half of the nineteenth century. As an artist she is largely unknown, but her works document many of the most fashionable plants of the period, revealing a keen horticultural interest and creating a unique and important record.
The only known collection of her paintings is held at the RHS Lindley Library.
