Vasily Petrenko conducts the online premiere of Ein Heldenleben

A trailer for the Royal Philarmonic's online premiere of Strauss' masterpiece Ein Heldenleben conducted by Vasily Petrenko, Music Director Designate from August 2020.

The premiere took place on Wednesday 8 April 2020, in association with Southbank Centre.

This colossal orchestral piece tells the epic story of a hero grappling with life’s adversities, listen out for the blazing French horn themes, broad, rich melodies, and stirring impetus. This thrilling performance, recorded live at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall in June 2019, received rave reviews from the critics and will be broadcast live in this online premiere.
