Veracruz’s warm and quiet nights

The watercolor painting that belongs to the collection of the Museum of Art (MUSA) since 1994, bears testament to his skill in this technique, which requires speed and precision, on a large-scale surface, whose colors and theme conserve the taste of Veracruz’s hot lands. The work is made up by a series of rectangles crowded with enormous scorpions and fragmented human bodies, in an ensemble created based on the juxtaposition of areas of color. The blues and whites make the usual warm shades of the painter’s palette stand out, forming a partitioned mosaic, whose elements rhythmically repeat themselves, in what seems to be an aerial view of a landscape from Veracruz.
