Verde (Green)

VERDE is an artist’s videogame that refers to the expansion of rights achieved after long fights by feminist groups that later became the movement called Marea verde (green tide). These collectives protested numerous times occupying the public space until the abortion stopped being considered a crime, with the sanction by the National Congress of the Voluntary Pregnancy Interruption Law on December 30, 2020, and its promulgation on January 14, 2021. Along with the demonstrations and claims, social media filled with green heart emojis, used as symbols of adhesion to the feminist cause. For some time, green became a symbol of feminism. In the work, presented as a reminder of the gained rights and the ones still to conquer in the region, a green heart represents the feminist fight against patriarchy; each letter of this word must be dodged to win points.
