The "Viet Nam Peace Arch and Memorial Plaza" is one of a series of monumental works in the Civic Center Mall, paying tribute to veterans of the Vietnam War. The arch was created by sculptor Ken Thompson of Blissfield, MI, longtime creator and conservator of major sculptural works via Flatlanders Sculpture Supply and founder of the Midwest Sculpture Initiative. Over a 45-year career, Thompson has created major sculptural works throughout the United States, and exhibited, conserved, and fabricated countless others.
