View of the city of Lima by Fernando Brambila, a crew member on Alejandro Malaspina's expedition. On its voyage around the world, the expedition visited Lima, the capital of the Viceroyalty of Peru, as part of a great political and scientific voyage around the Spanish Crown's American and Asian possessions between 1789 and 1794.

One of the most interesting aspects of this expedition was the way in which the flora, fauna, people, and cities of the places that they visited were captured in drawings. The expedition produced a large number of works of art as a result. It is difficult to estimate the precise number as the drawings have been dispersed among different archives and collections.

This drawing, with its view of Lima, was used for an engraving plate that is also housed in the Naval Museum.
