Nuremberg was an important nucleus of humanists, cosmographers, experts in all kinds of areas of knowledge, artists, printers and technicians in the manufacture of astronomical observation instruments, linked to merchants who maintained commercial relations with all of Europe. Nuremberg's cultural flourishing in the 15th and 16th centuries made this city the center of the German Renaissance.
