View of the Carelli Spire

View of the Carelli Spire (G06) with the statue of Saint George on top, made by Giorgio Solari in 1403. The Saint wears the armour of a crusader and holds a marble dagger in his right hand, while with the left he holds a metal standard. Tradition identifies the face as being that of Gian Galeazzo Visconti. On the left, a Renaissance dome can be seen.
