After completing the project for the Carnide subway (Lisbon), José de Guimarães incorporated neon into his work. This element, simultaneously undulating and sensual trait of drawing and feathery appeal of mass culture, is integrated into the artist's vocabulary, emphasizing its colors and forms, and used extensively in public art.
