Quirinale Palace

Quirinale Palace
Rome, Italy

The Room of the Bussolanti presents the usual decorative structure commissioned by Pope Paul V Borghese for his apartment in the Quirinale. It was decorated by the Genoese painter Bernardo Castello who painted the allegorical figures of earthly charity and divine charity on the sides of the papal coat of arms on the vault. Under the pontificate of Pius IX, conspicuous restoration works were carried out by the Ferrara painter Alessandro Mantovani who decorated the vault in 1851.
