Tromsø on a quiet spring day. A few boats on the bay. This print is part of "Atlas Historique et Pittoresque", published in 1842-1852 for "Voyages de la Commission Scientifique du Nord" about the French scientific expedition La Recherche (1838–1840)

The coal depot was next to the Tromsø fortress, Skansen, that still exist today and the building on the right is now home to the Polar Museum.
